Calculation of door dimension in relation to the wall opening:
To install this hardware correctly, you must have additional space above your door opening. For most barn doors, we recommend adding 1 inch of height and 2 inches of width to the door opening.
Standard example:
If your opening measures 24“ x 80”, you should order a 26“ x 81” door for use with traditional hardware.
However, this hardware requires a different height configuration: 4 additional inches of height must be added, not just one.
Example with this specific hardware:
For a 24“ x 80” opening, you should order a 26“ x 88” door.
Door drilling and preparation
This hardware can be installed on wooden doors or wood-framed doors (such as those with glass or mirror inserts), but requires specific drilling and cutting for proper installation.
- If you purchase this hardware together with your door (in the same order):The necessary drilling will be done at no additional cost. In this case, select the “Hardware Only” option from the options available above.
- If you purchase the hardware after purchasing the door: You must select the “Hardware with Drilling” option from the options available. This is because drilling holes in a door that is already in production requires additional work and incurs an extra cost.
